Sir,
We are this day honored with yours of the 5th Instant inclosing a Copy of yours to the President of the 28th Ulto. the original of which was referred to the Secretary of War.1
We are informed by the Assistant2 that he has informed your Excellency and the Council of what can at present be done. We Shall do everything in our power to obtain what our State requires.
