Sir,
I recd today your letter of the 28th Ulto. requesting to know the occasion of the resignation of Mr. T. C. Goodrich of Mass. His resignation was voluntary & with the assent of his father, & I recollect no reason assigned other than an unwillingness to continue five years at the Acady. His letter of resignation was forwd. to Washtn. & accepted by the Secy. of War.
