Capt. S. Williams having been appointed Asst: Adjt. Genl:, & directed to report at the Hd. Qrs. E. Division, I have appointed Br. Major Fitz John Porter Adjt: of the Mily. Acady in his place.
I am accordingly obliged to apply for the services of an officer to take his place in the Dept: of Artillery, & recommend as well qualified for the position
Bt: Major Jno. F. Reynolds, 1st Lt: 3d Arty, or
1st. Lieut. J. P. Gausche 4th Arty.
