General.
I have the honor to request that one of the officers hereafter named may be detailed for duty at the Military Academy in the dept: of French, preference being in the order named. viz:

| " Capt: H. L. Shields | 3rd. Artillery |
to supply the vacancy caused by Lt. Platt, 2nd Arty having been ordered to join his compy. The officer detailed should be ordered to report by the 28th Inst:
