Edge Hill Apl 2d 1866.

My Dear Sir

Feeling that you would like to hear from me & knowing that you deeply sympathized with me in my misfortunes, I send you a few lines to let you know that I am again doing well. I am now quite comfortably situated on my farm - Have a fine prospect for a crop.

I only allude to the fact, to inform you, that I will ever remember with pleasure & will love & honor my farm because it was your Headquarters.

An attempt was made to entirely destroy it - But "Phoenix like" it blooms out of its ashes -

I want to see you at Edge Hill - Come & see us - Bettie & the children join me in wishing you health & happiness - All desire to be remembered to Miss Agnes - Yours Truly

William Turnbull
