I received a letter from a friend of mine, and admirer of yours, and a Member of the British Parliament, requesting me to send him your photograph, and if possible your autograph - I enclose two photographs, and will be under many obligations if you will kindly give me your autographs -

I have also received a letter from my friend & Countryman - Dr Antisell of Washington City - enquiring whether one of the New Professorships in the Washington College was to be on Agricultural Chemistry or Geology - Dr Antisell is a highly educated gentleman, a distinguished chemist and geologist - For many years, prior to the War, he occupied a responsible position as a chemist in the Department of the Interior in Washington - He is now anxious to make his home in Virginia - Accept General my cordial wishes for your future welfare and happiness - Very faithfully
