My dear Major

I am very much obliged to you for copies of your Map of thirty five miles around Richmond. They are well executed & as far as I can judge from a cursory examination are accurate. I will send the maps to the Bookstore in this place with a list of prices, that such copies may be ordered as desired -

I have written to you in regard to the maps of Roanoke & Augusta. I hope that you will secure the map of Halifax Co. I think that the localities of coal fields, quarries of marble, slate etc, & such objects as are calculated to attract attention & to interest the public should be marked on all the maps issued, & accurate information of them should be obtained. Very resp - y &

truly yours

R E Lee
