Philadelphia July 12th. 1780

Dear sir

I wrote you yesterday by the post.1 I have at length got Bills of Exchange on France for 5000 Dollrs., being our part of 50,000 Dollas, alloted by Congress, to be distributed Amongst the States, Which I have Sent by Mr Mchard. I am Sorry to Acquaint you, that our part of the new Emission will not be Struck untill the week after next, be assured I will have it got ready and Sent forward as soon as possible. The Continental Treasury is quite Exausted, And hope for the Credit of Maryland, you will have it in your power to Send in a Short time, the ballance of our Quota of the money required by the resolve of Congress of the 19th May last.2

Have inclosed you the Pensylvania Gazette and Journal, have nothing more to add at present, only to assure you that
