General Braxton Bragg Richmond, Va.

I have just learned that Genl. Glary from causes unknown to me burned Meadow bridge last night. Please cause it to be re-established as soon as practicable. Troops will assist in the re-construction. Timber suitable for the purpose should be sent as there is none just there. Meanwhile a pontoon bridge should be laid. It is important to this army.

Please have a telegraph operator sent to Atlees.
