Westmd. Octr 5. 1781

Dear Sir,

I am favored by Mr Monroe with yours of yesterday and a letter from Colo. Parker. My brother Dr. Lee is at present in Prince William County so that he is deprived of an opportunity of writing by you - Since my brother left England I have no Correspondents there, nor have I many upon the Continent of Europe - To my brother William, to Mr. John Adams the Amer. Minister in Holland, and if you judged it expedient to Mr. Schweighauser Merchant in Nantes, I could write with pleasure, but at this moment, as Mr. Monroe is in haste, I have not time - If you could do me the pleasure of a visit in a few days I may have an opportunity of writing to these gentlemen, and also of answering my friend Colo. Parkers letter - I am dear Sir

your most obedient and very humble Servant.

Richard Henry Lee
