My dear brother,

Mr. Ford has arrived and delivered safely all his dispatches for me and for Congress. An Express now waits to carry the latter to Philadelphia - I believe but am not certain that the new Minister and Mr Adams are arrived - If Congress do not publish your vindication & censure Deane I will do the former for them, and the latter will sufficiently flow from every honest man in the world - I mean to keep back such Vouchers as the publication of might offend friendly Courts - There is enough without these - I have persuaded Mr. Ford to go directly to Williamsburg and demand a public hearing before the Governor & Council where he says he can fully vindicate himself from the foul aspersions against him - I hope he will - I wish our brother William had sent me a copy of his vindication, I shall not get it from Congress with’t much trouble - Two posts ago I wrote Mr Lovell to commence yr suit against Deane, and I have left it to your Whig friends in Congress whether to present your resignation or not. I am extremely indisposed at present, so, with my love to my brother, his lady & family, & my boys,

I am yours sincerely.
