Manokin 6 Feb. 1774 Quarter before 5

Dear Sir,

I am greatly obliged to you for the assistance I have received from Nassau. He has performed two operations from which relief is already discernible - But my dear Sir, I beg you will not be so hard of belief, as to suppose my attendance at Sabine Hall far off for I assure you, that notwithstanding my powerful avocations have so long prevented me from being there, it has always been with regret. - And my settled determination is to see you very soon after my present painful visitation will permit me. I am, with much regard dear Sir

Your affectionate friend.

R. H. Lee

To Landon Carter, esquire of Sabine Hall.
